Hiking in Conejo Ridge Open Space
Conejo Ridge Open Space has some excellent hiking trails that are suitable for novices and aficionados. The Peninsula Trail is a fun mountain biking trail that follows a grassy plateau and climbs up to North-West Edison Road. It has a very steep section that can be tricky for beginners. However, the new bypass replaces about 50 feet of trail, making it much more user friendly. Interestingly enough, there is also a roadside parking lot, so there are a few options for getting to the park. It is also conveniently located within a few miles of the Conejo Recreation and Park District's Conejo Center Drive and Santa Rosa County Park, which both feature trailheads.

The Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency is a joint powers agency which was created to help manage and maintain public lands. Its most recent accomplishments include the construction of the Baxter Singletrack, which has a higher technical rating than most singletracks. There are also a number of trails to choose from, including the Western Plateau Trail. There is also a fireroad that runs alongside Arroyo Conejo, a slog to return. The best part about this trail is that it leads to a beautiful pond that is home to many birds and other wildlife. There are some great views of the surrounding areas, and you can also hike a trail that follows the creek under the canopy of the trees.
The Conejo Open Space Challenge is a way to discover new trails in the local area. It is a series of ten different trails that are available to the public. It is an excellent opportunity to try out new routes and find out what you are capable of. Unlike a trail race, the Challenge is not a competition, but an event that gives you an opportunity to discover the various trails in the area. It is not the most comprehensive list of trails available to the public, but it is a good place to start.
The Conejo Ridge Open Space is a nice, well-maintained park with some interesting hiking and cycling trails. It is located near Greenwich Village, which is near downtown Ventura. It is also a good distance from Westlake Village, a small city east of the park. The Conejo Valley Botanical Garden is about 2 and a half miles northwest of the park. The park has a Japanese-style garden, a butterfly and herb garden, and a number of collections of plants from other countries. It is a great place to visit, whether you are staying in the area or visiting for a day.
